Boys and Libidos

Rey and Jen talk about What To Do about Zalkin, now that Rey's got a weyrmate and four people living in his weyr. And then the two go down for drinks, and talk to J'nas about Hanreth's libido in overdrive. Jenna hatches a plot.

jenna - Sunday, July 28, 2002, 9:51 AM
--------------------------------------

Your location's current time: 15:12 on day 1, month 3, Turn 41, of the Tenth Pass. It is a spring afternoon.

Niyath> Randoth senses that Niyath asks politely, << My Jenna would like to talk to yours about the small one. >> An image of Zalkin is given. << She is concerned. Does yours have time to talk? >>

Dragon> Niyath senses that Randoth answers as politely. << Mine is available. Where dies he have to meet yours? >>

Niyath> I bespoke Randoth with << Somewhere that the small one will not overhear? You are welcome on my ledge. >>

Dragon> Niyath senses that Randoth warbles his agreement. << We're coming. >>

Randoth backwings to a landing on the ledge.
Randoth has arrived.

Randoth warbles politely as he lands.

Astride Randoth, R'yat removes his helmet and waves.

R'yat slides with ease down from his place between his lifemate's neckridges. As he reaches the ground, Randoth croons happily.
R'yat has arrived.

Jenna steps back, and offers a tight nod. "Thank you for coming. Come on in and we'll sit down and talk?"

R'yat replaces his hair discreetly. "You sent for me, Jen?" He asks trying to smile. "I'm following."

You step into the cave that houses Jenna and Niyath.

Niyath's Weyr(#9025RJh)
This large cavern is shaped like a rounded rectangle, no hard corners to amount to anything anywhere. It has a wide opening, easily large enough to accomidate a queen, out to the ledge, which seems more of an extension of it with a stairwell running through it than a seperate area entirely. Niyath's couch takes up nearly half of the cavern, with enough room for her to sleep comfortably. The couch itself is covered with soft hide, painstakingly stitched together to hold in heat for the drowsy queen. A thick curtain, usually kept open, covers the entrance to Jenna's living space. To the left of it, going in, there is a niche that has two barrels, one for oil and the other for sand, and a variety of cloths and brushes hang in orderly fashion. Along that same wall are pegs, from which hang two sets of fighting straps, one for every day wear and the other, more colorful set, obviously for a gather. There is a small table near the entrance which contains a flamethrower tank as well as numerous spare parts.

Niyath(#999Oaept)

R'yat comes in from the ledge.
R'yat has arrived.

Niyath watches the two go past, eyes half lidded. "She just got oiled, so she's a bit sleepy," Jenna explains, ushering you past into her weyr.

You duck into the living quarters.
Jenna's Weyr(#9167RFJU)
It's obvious from the getgo that this weyr was built to house a large gold dragon and her rider. There's more than enough space in here to keep a goldrider happy. A huge bed filled with fresh rushes rests against one wall not far from a hearth with a mantle above it. On the far side of the hearth is a curtained opening to a private bathing cavern. A table with two chairs sits in the center of the room. It obviously needs decorating, but the possibilities are endless with a weyr this size.

Niyath> R'yat nods to Niyath as he comes in. "Very nice place." He murmurs for himself as he hurries after Jenna.

R'yat comes in from the weyr outside.
R'yat has arrived.

Jenna gestures towards the chairs. "I haven't had a chance to decorate much. It's still a bit bare in here, but..." She frowns. "I want to talk to you about Zak. It's personal, not weyr business," she adds hurriedly, "If that was what you were thinking."

R'yat coughs a little an clears his throat and nods. "It's still a nice place, Jen." He frowns as he hears the goldrider. "I wasn't thinking about anything, Jen. What's wrong with Zak?" He asks, concerned.

Jenna sighs, and coils down into a chair. "He's been fighting again. And P'ter found out about it. I suspected, but I didn't have any proof. I've got him beliving that Niyath can see into the caverns and know when he's fighting, but I don't know how long that'll curb him." SHe pauses and says carefully, "I know you've a lot on your plate right now, what with a new weyrmate and all, but... Zak's just getting wilder and wilder. /And/ he's started to actually lie. He lied to P'ter and I about fighting."

Jenna adds softly, "I think that bothers me more than anything."

R'yat's jaws drops and he shakes his head a little. Every Jenna's words hitting him hard. Finally, he lets out a long sigh. "So, having him right before my eyes conceals me the worst..." He makes a pause and looks into Jenna's eyes. "I thank you for telling me that, Jen. I'll find a cure for this little wild beast." His tone may be ironic but his look shows pure anger.

Jenna shakes her head. "Honestly, I really don't think that's the best thing. Like throwing cromcoal on a fire. I'd... well, I'd offered to foster him once, Rey. The offer still stands. Niyath and the weyr do take up a lot of my time, but Jeny's grown up enough she doesn't need me as much. And you have to be settling in with Ember and all. Did Rain move up there too? Maybe he's just feeling a little left out."

R'yat sighs again; fidgeting one of his glove. "But he /must/ learn respect." He says, now hitting his hand with a fist. "It was maybe a mistake to take him with me...It surely was...I'm just...unable..."

Jenna shakes her head. "He's got respect. He's just being a boy. And, I think he's trying to get attention. And I don't think it's that you're unable, it's just... well, you're maybe not as much of an authority figure? Or he's just trying to get your attention any way he can. Do... do you want me to foster him? If so, we ought to make it a positive thing, not a negative one, you know?"

R'yat considers Jenna silently for a moment then smiles. "You're right, Jen. Once again, a feminine view makes the difference." He smiles again, apparently not as concerned. "But he still deserve a punishment...And I don't want you to be in trouble with him."

Jenna shakes her head. "I don't think so, actually. The less attention given to the wrestling, the better. Punishing him only makes it look more like it's forbidden fruit, you know?"

R'yat sighs. "But he lied!"

Jenna nods. "But he immediately came clean about it, when we pressed him on it."

R'yat sighs again. "So you suggest the soft way?"

Jenna nods. "Well, we haven't gotten anywhere with doing things the flame and firestone way."

R'yat takes a deep breath. "I'll follow your advice and accept your generous offer then, Jen."

Jenna smiles slightly, "Don't worry too much. He's a boy. And you should worry more about that new weyrmate of yours."

R'yat's smile doesn't last long and he coughs. "Oh yeah. I almost forgot..."

Jenna blinks. "Forgot what?"

"That I now, have company?" Rey says with a wink. "Nah, it is just that it's new for me..."

Jenna shrugs slightly. "Well, it'll all work out. I'll talk to Zak about moving down here with me. The weyr's plenty big enough - we can divide it in half with a screen or something. And I don't have much company these days, so that's not an issue."

R'yat nods at each words. "Not much company?" His eyes suddenly sparkles and he doesn't refrain himself from teasing a bit. "It is true that I didn't see L'nan these days..."

Jenna says coolly, "L'nan is keeping company with a greenrider from Telgar." She rises then and says, "I'll speak to Zak tonight, after supper. He may not want to come live with me. If that's the case, then I honestly don't know what to do."

R'yat coughs and stands up, smiling. "I'm sure he won't disagree, Jen. I know how much he likes you." He coughs again and finally says. "I'm sorry for L'nan..."

Jenna shrugs slightly, though her eyes are a bit tight. "We weren't weyrmated. And over a turn is a bit difficult for most men to wait. Lu and Rodric both. - I'll talk to Zak and see what he says. I'd like this to be a joint agreement, actually. He's growing up enough that he should have some say in it."

R'yat nods avoiding Lu's subject. "True. But I repeat, I don't want you to be in trouble with him. If so, I'd like you to warn me. Just like today."

Jenna nods and smiles faintly, "It'd be nice to have a foster-father with him, I admit. So I don't feel so over my head at times."

R'yat now smiles brightly and bows. "You know where to find me." He winks.

Jenna nods and smiles wryly, "I'll just have Niyath yell. So. Anything else we need to catch up on?"

R'yat grins and thinks for a moment. "I don't think so, Jen. Unless you need me for something else? How's Niyath these days?"

Jenna shrugs, shifting back slightly and wrapping arms around herself. "Fine. Not glowing. That's about all there is about that."

R'yat lifts an eyebrow and shakes his head vigorously. "Oh! I didn't ask because of that." He says, grimacing a bit under his own silliness. "She's fine it's all that counts." He coughs.

Jenna nods a trifle guardedly. "And Randoth's doing well in his wing?" She still seems a trifle uncomfortable.

R'yat nods, idly running a hand through his hair. "He tries to offer much more than his best. Just like me in fact. It's not always easy, but that never discourages us."

Jenna nods. "I'd not heard anything really bad anout any of our classmates. It's harder to keep up with everyone now though. And I really should get back to my hide work..."

R'yat now rubs his chin thoughtfully. "It's easier for me as J'nas is the same wing, but I do understand that you do not see much of us often..." He smiles and idly wipes his tunic. "I should not waste your time like that, if you have work to do though.."

Jenna shrugs. "We've a surplus of herdbeasts. The Weyrwoman has me tracking it down to make sure we're not shorting someone, or if someone's been hunting out of the weyr. You haven't heard any rumors, have you?"

R'yat blinks and errs. "No, I'm sorry I haven't." He shrugs and sighs. "Did the Weyr receive any complaints?"

Jenna shakes her head. "Not yet. Looks like there was an error in tithe, or someone's been hunting out of the weyr, or one of the golds is proddy. And I know Niyath's not, so..." She shrugs. "Anyway, want to go grab something to drink in the caverns?"

R'yat humms slightly. "I wonder if G'rin let Belrath fill his endless stomach when he's on sweeps..." He says aloud then perks. "Oh sure. Ladies first." He finally says, bowing and smiling.

You say "G'rin, hm? I'll keep an ear out. I'd appreciate it if you could do the same." She heads on out and murmurs, "Niyath's sleeping, so try not to wake her?"

You duck out into the weyr proper.
Niyath's Weyr(#9025RJh)

R'yat comes out ifrom Jenna's living quarters.
R'yat has arrived.

Niyath is curled up, one wing over her head, just as she used to do in the barracks.

You step out onto Jenna and Niyath's ledge.

Niyath's Ledge(#9003RJLh)

Niyath> R'yat tiptoes and follows Jen out.

R'yat comes out of Jenna and Niyath's weyr.
R'yat has arrived.

Randoth is crouched down, head on his forelegs. He does not warble when Jenna and Rey comes out. He's surely aware of Niyath's sleep. Good boy.

Jenna murmurs softly, "She's been sleeping more and more these days. Poor dear. Just worn out. I'm sure Randoth'll stand guard for her though, won't you, Randoth?"

Randoth lifts his head and slowly blink once. A silent agreement of his. Rey puts a tender hand on his hide. "He said that he will."

Dragon> Jenna senses that Randoth smoothly answers. << She will sleep safe with me near. >>

Jenna gives them both a smile, though she startles slightly, blinking at Randoth. Then, her expression wry she murmurs, "Just like his sire. - So, what else have you been up to?" She starts down towards the bowl floor.

R'yat trots after Jenna whispering. "What a labyrinth...Err, except from surviving wing duties, I'd say that I'll be glad to spend more time with Dragonhealers...You?"

Jenna grins. "it's not so bad. Just straight down the ramps. I'd hate to be lower, though, having me traipsing through like that.

R'yat nods, coming at her level. "But you have to go through the other Junior Weyrwoman to go down when Niyath's sleeping. Do they scowl you sometimes or?" He smiles.

Jenna laughs. "I tiptoe. Shalith's gotten hard of hearing, so she doesn't really notice, and I just try not to disturb Rialeth." She heads on towards the caverns.

You head into the Living Caverns.
Fort Weyr Living Cavern(#199RJa$)
Approaching half the size of the Hatching Grounds, this cavern echoes with voices during the day, and the soft patter of feet during the night. Dozens of tables are spaced throughout, each with open space around to provide small amounts of privacy for the discussions carried on at each. The night hearth, with a cluster of pots of stew and klah, is situated near the large entrance to the Several other hearths are spaced around the huge chamber, lending light and some heat to the room. The far wall is lined with tables that always hold something edible to feed the throngs of people who come into this immense room in search of a meal, a snack, or something to drink. As with most Weyrs, the Living Cavern is the busiest place with the most activity. It is here that Fortians and visitors alike migrate in an effort to find information, share gossip, and just plain socialize.

Broad marble steps to the southwest lead up to the impressive Fort Weyr kitchen. An almost constant stream of activity centers around this staircase: people coming and going with loads of goods for the stores, fresh food, dirty or clean dishes and utensils, and plenty of folks just going in to do their duty for the day or night. The aromas wafting down the stairs are indicators of which meal is being prepared or served at the moment. The view into the kitchens is clear from the Living Cavern, everything gleaming and clean, and the muffled but bustling noises coming from within just add to the air of comfort, family, and hard work done at Fort Weyr.

To the east, a short flight of stairs leads to the hallway to the inner caverns. A stout door to the north has a healer's emblem on it, marking the Infirmary. To the south is a wide tunnel, leading out of the Weyr, and a wide opening to the west leads to the Weyr bowl.

"Wise Jenna." Rey says with a wink when he comes in.

Jenna grins. "She's earned her rest." She heads towards the hearths, inspecting pots and grumbling mildly, "Wish they'd put on some more ones with hot cider in them. It's all klah, klah, klah."

R'yat chuckles. "Hot cider? I'd prefer iced one myself." He looks around, grabs a pitcher and looks in it. "Hummm...Empty..."

Jenna wrinkles her nose. "Too cold for anything iced, in my book. I can heat some, if we don't - aha!" The last check shows a half empty pot. "Excellent. Want some? It's better than klah, you know."

J'nas comes in from the bowl.
J'nas has arrived.

R'yat nods and shrugs. "Why not?" He sits down and lift a hand. "One mug for me lass." He calls winking. "Hey J'nas!"

Jenna pours two mugs, and then looks over, nodding to J'nas as he comes in from the bowl. "Hey, J'nas. Want some cider? I'm pouring. And playingdelivery maid today, looks like. Want anything to nibble on, while I'm up, Rey?"

R'yat takes the offered mug. "Oh! It would be very nice, pretty maid. Humm what about a sweet stick? If Rain left some." He giggles and winks at J'nas.

J'nas enters briskly from the cold air outside. "Hey, R'yat, Jenna," he calls cheerfully. "I'd love some cider, as long as it's warm." He hurries over to the hearth to try and thaw out his body. "What's new?"

Jenna turns over the second cup to J'nas, and circles back to hunt up a third and something to eat. "Not much - oh, hey, J'nas, do you know anything about G'rin hunting Belrath while he was out on sweeps?"

R'yat takes one sip of his hot cider. "It's quite tasty, Jen. Thank you." He turns to look at J'nas. "Poor G'rin. I guess he now has the wild Jen after him." All playful is this bronzerider today.

J'nas takes the mug with a nod of thanks. "G'rin and Belrath? I might of heard something, but I figured they were hunting wild wherries. Is there something wrong?"

Jenna brings back a plate of bread, as well as a sticky bun or two. She plops the plate between the two wingmates, and coils into a chair across from them, hands around her mug. "We're up a significant amount of herdbeasts, providing Aisheth didn't clean them all out between last night and this morning. Someone might've been hunting out of weyr."

R'yat bends to grab a sticky bun and nibbles. "And what if it's really G'rin? What does he have to be afraid of? I mean, will you cut his ears or something, Jenna?"

J'nas scratches at the stubble growing on his chin. "Did you have Niyath speak with Belrath about it? That would settle it, wouldn't it?"

Jenna supplies to J'nas, "Niyath's asleep. And Belrath may not remember, is the problem. This has to have been happening over the sevenday, considering the amount of beef we still have in the pasture. I'm not all that concerned, but the Weyrwoman wants to know - it might be that tithe was messed up, and we somehow shorted someone else. Or, one of the golds might be proddy, but I don't *think* any of them are."

Jenna adds, "And it's not me, it's the Weyrwoman. I'm just supposed to track down any rumors."

R'yat humms. "I didn't think about that. Silly me." He says more for himself. "By the way, how many herdbeast do we have in surplus Jen? Maybe G'rin is not the only one guilty?"

J'nas snorts behind his mug. "Trust me, none of them are close to rising. Hanreth would know if they were." He shakes his head and turns his head to Jenna, curious to hear her reply to R'yat.

You say "Could be. There's a full fourteen. Or were. Aisheth said he could account for seven, but I don't think P'ter was going to let him gorge like that."

R'yat finishes his bun and his mug in one long sip. "Aisheth's stomach may be as large as his body. It's possible. Anyway, I can try to grab G'rin, if you want Jen?" He turns to look at J'nas and shrugs a little.

Jenna shakes her head. "I'll talk to him later. Just if you hear of anyone else doing any raiding, let me know? I could just see someone 'accidentally' getting some prime breeding stock. Niyath wouldn't know a stud bull from any other. Just: is it big and does it go 'pop' when she squishes it."

R'yat stifles a chuckle and nods. "You can count on me."

J'nas nods gravely. "We don't need to be upsetting the herders, especially during the winter. I'll keep my ears and eyes open, Jenna."

Jenna smiles. "Thanks, J'nas." A pause and she asks, "You said Hanreth'd know if any of the golds were proddy? He still driving you crazy with flights?"

J'nas frowns slightly as he shakes his head. "Not as much as he used to. We've had a few arguements about it, but I think I'm getting my point across to him." He gives a dramatic sigh. "It'd be a lot easier if he remembered how exhausting it can be."

Jenna smirks faintly, "Well, that settles it. I didn't think any of them were close to rising, but I'm still new at this. If Hanreth's not chomping at the bit, they must not be." She can't help teasing a little. "Maybe you show blow off steam more, so he doesn't think about it constantly?"

R'yat continues to grin but stays silent, looking from Jenna to J'nas.

J'nas eyes Jenna. "Blow off steam? You aren't suggesting that I go along for the ride everytime Hanreth chases, are you?"

"There are things we, men, can't fight." Rey says innocently and without looking anyone. Just smiling.

Jenna shakes her head. "Noooo. But maybe he's chasing 'cause you're not." That was a bit blunt, and she offers, "Just a suggestion is all."

J'nas leans back in his chair as if to escape the two front attack. "Suddenly, I need to chase? Hanreth's just competitive, that's all. I don't think my choice to abstain has that much of an effect on him." He falls silent for a long moment before facing Jenna. "Do you think that's possible?"

Jenna nods. "Why not? They feel what we do, remember? Sounds to me it's more like Hanreth's trying to get you company, in his own way. Yeah, he's competitive, but..." She shrugs slightly. "Course, that's just my opinion, and from a rider whose dragon isn't completely mature. What do you think, Rey?"

R'yat perks and turns his head. "I didn't really think about that. I mean, I know how protective they can be with us but...It may be possible, J'nas." He finally says to the brownrider. "I saw Rand bring a wherry for one small pretty green once. He's listening to their needs." He grins. "Maybe Hanreth's listening to yours?"

J'nas hmms. "Niyath may be not flying yet, but I assume Leah has discussed these things with you." He sighs when R'yat tells his side. "So you both think that Hanreth telling me, in a covert fashion, to find a nice lass?"

Jenna mms, "Well, yes, we've talked about it. And she's getting old enough that I need to start thinking about it, but." She shrugs. "Well, so what's the worst that happens? You find a, um, companion, for a bit, and see if that calms Hanreth down some from chasing every bright hide in a three weyr radius." Her tone is mild. "If it doesn't, at the worst, you're short on a few night's sleep."

R'yat shrugs. "Maybe not. Like Jen said, it is just a thought. I don't think Hanreth is worried about you." He smiles. "The least we can say about him is that he deeply likes females. It's surely not a sign of depression in a male dragon." He winks.

J'nas sighs and returns Rey's wink. "I suppose I could pretend to be a bronzer for a night or two."

R'yat blinks and points his own chest. "Bronzers are always innocent, you surely know that J'nas." He grins.

Jenna snorts at the sigh. "Well, if it's too much trouble... Shells, I'm sure Raeche would be glad to accomidate you. - Oh, they most certainly are /not/, Rey."

R'yat continues to blink. "Really Jenna? I was told lies then?"

J'nas shakes his head. "I'm sure she would, but I think she's up to her ears in Records. I haven't seen her in days." He grins mischeviously at Jenna. "I'm sure there are other lasses who wouldn't object. Rey, I think you've discovered by now that bronzers are /far/ from innocent."

Jenna rather maturely sticks her tongue out at Rey. "Don't try that on me, R'yat. You're no better at it than your baby brother is." J'nas's words get a lift of her eyebrows, though she doesn't respond, instead taking a drink from her cooling cider.

J'nas shrugs, as if to disregard his last comment. "I'd rather just see if it's just a phase that Hanreth's going through." Time to redirect the attention. "Rey, how are you and Ember doing now that she's moved in?"

R'yat sighs and smiles. "It was my better weapon though...The thing that I learnt is that men are always wrong, no matter what they done."

Jenna relents a bit, "Well, I wouldn't say that. Maybe sixty percent of the time."

R'yat chuckles. "Which means almost ninety percent." He turns to J'nas. "We're well, J'nas. Thanks. It is just that we're too many in fact. Zak still lives with us." A quick wink to Jenna. "And Ember is so close to Rain so...." He sighs.

J'nas nods slowly. "It must be getting crowded up there. I imagine your weyr isn't too much larger than ours."

Jenna chimes in, "Not much privacy."

R'yat sighs again and nods. "Luckily it's quite large in fact, but streaked with curtains."

Jenna sniffs mildly. "Must be difficult. Though, it did take me forever to get used to our own weyr. I slept on Niyath's couch with her most nights."

J'nas nods. "I remember that. Are you settled in comfortably, now?"

Jenna waves one hand in a so-so gesture. "More or less. I still don't have it any more fixed up. Something always comes up and I never have the time. Niyath needs oiling or bathing or there's hides or..."

"Why don't you get some help?" J'nas asks. "I'm sure Jenylle would love to help out with Niyath."

R'yat slowly stands up, smiling. "I sleep most of night on Randoth's ledge too, Jen." He stretches himself a bit. "Now if you please excuse me, I have something to find in the storeroom."

You say "I can give it a try. Last time I tried to get someone to help out with oiling, she was /not/ pleased. - Okay. I'll see you later, Rey? And I'll talk to Zak tonight."

R'yat nods to Jenna qith a smile. "Clear Skies you two."

R'yat walks down the eastern stairs to the Inner Caverns.
R'yat has left.

J'nas cocks his head in curiosity. "Why doesn't like it? Doesn't she like the attention?"

Jenna shrugs. "Beats me. It's the newest phase of hers. I'm the only one who can oil her just right. The Weyrwoman said Jinieth's like that all the time, so I think she's just trying to imitate her dam, but don't tell her I said that."

J'nas bows his head. "I won't mention a word to her. It's not like she and I have deep conversations," he adds with chuckle.

Jenna leans elbows on the table and considers him for a long moment or two. "So. What else have you been up to recently? I've been kinda keeping to myself until I got a handle on Niyath's temper. Not exactly fit company for most."

J'nas shrugs absently. "Other than following Hanreth around, I've been keeping busy with duties. I did take a trip to the Weaverhall a while back. I've got an ongoing commission with one of their newly promoted Journeymen."

You say "That must be hard - dealing with his libido all the time. No dragon should be that randy though. He's caught before, hasn't he?"

J'nas nods. "I've been doing a lot of sleeping when I can. Sadly, Hanreth hasn't caught yet. I'm hoping he'll ease up once he finally 'wins'."

Jenna ahs. "Well, that might be it too, then. Or maybe a combination of both." She pauses and then says, a trifle uncertainly, "That wasn't an offer before, was it?"

J'nas flushes slightly. "I know better than to proposition you, Jenna."

Jenna ohs. She studies her mug for a few minutes and then says, "Well, let me know how it works out. It's not good for you and Hanreth to be at odds so much."

J'nas regards her for a moment, trying to study her body language. "Sure. I can let you know how it goes. I've been told by several people that it isn't good. Ember wants me to see the Healers."

Jenna frowns faintly, "Why the healers?"

"Just to make sure that it isn't having an adverse affect on me," J'nas replies. "She's worried that I'll drive myself *between* with stress."

Jenna's frown deepens. "Just how often are you having to fight Hanreth about this, J'nas?"

J'nas shrugs again. "He's chased most of the greens that rise around here. I even had the misfortune of being at Ista when Qirith rose. There was no way I wanted to keep him from chasing his first queen."

Jenna winces. "And her a senior. Well, he doesn't lack for ambition, I'll say that. And just how long have you been, ah, abstaining?"

J'nas frowns as he thinks back. "I think I stopped just before winter set in," he murmurs, not wanting his wingmates to overhear.

Jenna also keeps her voice low. "And when did Hanreth's libido go into overdrive? Or has it always been that way?"

J'nas leans forward on the table. "Ever since he chased Tenkanoth, he's been on a quest. He claims it's to prove that he can win, but I'm starting to wonder about that."

Jenna nods. "Sounds as if-" she breaks off, grimacing. "Fardles. Niyath's awake and demanding something. I'll see you at dinner, all right? We're not done talking about this just yet."

J'nas grimaces. "Alright. You know how to find me."

Jenna nods, hurrying on out. "I do, yes. And I promise, no yelling."
