Starshower

J'nas and Jenna watch a meteor shower before going for a drink in the caverns. Jenna continues to beat-around-the-bush.

----------------------------------------

Your location's current time: 18:09 on day 6, month 5, Turn 41, of the Tenth Pass. It is a spring evening.

Fort Bowl> High above the bowl, A white streak of light catches your attention as it moves across the sky, spanning the entire constellation of FLwingspan.

Fort Bowl> High above the bowl, A tiny point of orange suddenly diffuses, in its place three slightly faint streaks of light.

You land on the ledge near the Star Stones.
Star Stones
This is one of the highest peaks of the entire Fort Range. To the north of here are two vertical rock outcroppings. On the left is the Finger Rock and off to the right is its companion, the Eye Rock. Together, they perform three major functions. These are the first landmarks weyrlings memorize when they learn to fly *between*. And more importantly, when Rukbat balances on Finger Rock at dawn, it marks the winter solstice. If at this time the Red Star is bracketed by the Eye Rock, a Pass is due to begin.
Downwards to the west is the volcanic expanse of Fort Weyr. Individual weyrs pockmark the inside of the cone, and dragons are constantly flying in and out, popping in and out of *between* a few dragonlengths away. The Fort Range stretches as far as you can see to the north and south.

High above the bowl, A white streak of light catches your attention as it moves across the sky, spanning the entire constellation of Herd beast.

Above the center of the bowl, Hanreth spreads his wings and launches off his ledge.

High above the bowl, A streak of orange light catches your eye as you watch it pass across the Trundlebug constellation, leaving a bright 5.2 degrees long trail behind it.

Hanreth has arrived.

J'nas unstraps himself from Hanreth's neckridges, sliding down his forelimb to the ground.
J'nas has arrived.

Niyath is clearly excited, reared back on hind legs, wings half extended to balance her, as she watches the sky. Jenna too, is straining hard to see the streaks in the darkening twilight. She says excitedly, "Can you see them, J'nas?"

High above the bowl, Three yellow flashes, one right after the other, light up a part of the sky that is strangely devoid of stars.

J'nas' eyes are still on the sky as he takes a seat nearby. "I sure can. Hanreth started going on about the ancestors returning. He insisted we come up here where the view is better."

High above the bowl, In the inky black sky, a long orange trail suddenly appears and disappears.

Jenna grins, edging over a bit to talk without being too terribly loud. "Same with Niyath - oooh! Didja see that one? We'd been to Telgar earlier, and I was just getting ready to head back down to work on the records room again, when she hauled me back out."

High above the bowl, A white streak of light catches your attention as it moves across the sky, spanning the entire constellation of FLwingspan.

J'nas lays back and laces his fingers behind his head. "It's a nice change of pace, though. You need to get out of the caverns once in a while, especially for this."

High above the bowl, A streak of light appears, so faint and so fast you even doubt you saw it.

High above the bowl, A brilliant orange meteor roughly 8.1 degrees long streaks across the sky, its afterimage hanging in front of your eyes for several seconds.

Jenna objects mildly, "I do get out, when I can. I spent the whole day gallivanting, actually. Smithcraft and then Telgar." She settles cross-legged, wrists resting easily on folded knees. Just means I have to work harder tonight. Woo! See that one?"

J'nas' eyes glaze over as Hanreth rumbles at the trails of light. He refocuses on Jenna and speaks. "What were you up to today?"

Jenna answers absently, "Taking Jeny to the Smiths." She keeps her eyes on the sky. "Think that was the last of 'em?"

High above the bowl, A streak of white light catches your eye as you watch it pass across the Mug constellation, leaving a medium bright 12.5 degrees long trail behind it.

J'nas shakes his head as he continues to stare skyward. "I guess that answers your question." He sits up just enough to prop himself up on one elbow. "Jenylle joined the Smiths? I didn't think she'd pick one so quickly."

High above the bowl, A series of slightly faint white points glimmer near the Farviewer constellation.

Jenna nods, pulling her eyes away from the star show. "She did. She'd been thinking that or miners for a while. She just finally decided. She'll make an excellent smith. She's so smart. It's her first time away from home, though. I stopped by Telgar to see if Kindre could ask after her if she's on sweep to the Hall. She does that now, so..." She shrugs slightly. "Ran into the Igen weyrlings. Their first trip out of the weyr."

High above the bowl, A bright orange meteor roughly 12 degrees long streaks across the sky, its afterimage hanging in front of your eyes for several seconds.

"I guess you'll have to make more trips to Telgar," J'nas says, nodding thoughtfully. "I take it that Igen's weyrlings are going *between* now?"

High above the bowl, In the inky black sky, a long yellow trail suddenly appears and disappears.

Jenna nods. "Some of 'em. Though Chayil mentioned not everyone was cleared for it yet. They'll hopefully be coming here. I promised not to put them to work in the records room. And I'm gonna miss Jeny something fierce. I'm trying not to be overprotective, you know but - ooh. That one was pretty. - And I know she'll do well. I'll just miss her. With her gone now, and Zak home visiting his parents-" She trails off and shrugs slightly.

High above the bowl, A medium bright white streak hangs against the sky for what seems like an age, then gently fades from view.

J'nas smiles warmly. "Jenylle will be fine. Like you said, she's a smart girl. And she's friendly enough that she won't suffer from a lack of company." He returns to his prone position to watch the stars. "From what I can tell, she was raised right."

High above the bowl, Making its way across the inky night sky, a meteor's extremely dim white trail disappears behind a stray cloud.

High above the bowl, As you look up you notice a bright white meteor passing across the @Glowing@ constellation. It quickly fades from view.

Jenna's expression clouds. "Well, at least she's away from the boys here. And that was more Zinnia's doing the last couple of turns than mine. Still, once you foster 'em, they kinda set up residence in here," she taps her breast. "I'm going to try to get over to see her at least every other sevenday. I just hope I can."

"I'm sure it won't be too hard to keep that schedule." J'nas rolls his head to look at you. "Don't sell yourself short. How long did you take care of Jeny?"

Jenna considers. "Well, right around three turns, I guess? Maybe a bit longer. Big sister more than a true foster, but if I had a daughter, I'd want her to be like Jeny. She's /so/ smart. Chemistry. She's going to be studying Chemistry. Can you imagine? I never gave a thought to where agenothree came from, you know? I thought it just appeared in barrels, ready to use."

J'nas smirks. "At least she'll be extra careful when preparing it. She'll never know which batch will end up here for your use."

Jenna grins wryly. "Guess so." She's quiet a few more minutes and then murmurs, "I think all the shooting stars are gone."

J'nas looks from one end of the bowl to other, mirroring Hanreth's movements. "It looks that way. Maybe there will be more tomorrow evening."

Jenna nods. "Yeah. Though I don't think I'll have a chance to see 'em. Norri's talking about spring cleaning coming up. With that and the records room..." She trails off.

J'nas coughs as he sits up. "Why did Norri decide to the spring cleaning while we're still working on the records? She's going to have a constant flow of Harpers moving through her caverns."

Jenna shrugs. "Don't look at me, I just work here. Maybe she's hoping that the records will be done by the time we start cleaning up the rest of the weyr?"

J'nas pulls his legs in so that he is sitting cross-legged. "I think I'm going to have to try and pull duties outside of the weyr."

Jenna frowns. "There's going to be a lot of folks trying that."

J'nas nods. "True. That means that I'll end up working on the cleaning. After all, I'm still a junior in my wing."

Jenna says wryly, "Gee thanks. Glad to know that you're stuck with it instead of helping out because you wanted to."

J'nas laughs. "Sorry. I thought my scrubbing days were over after Candidacy. Other than Hanreth, that is. Are you saying you'll be stuck with the records room /and/ the cleaning?"

Jenna shrugs. "Part of my duties. Helping to keep track of all that."

J'nas wrinkles his nose. "I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't realize you had to have a hand in /all/ of this. Sounds to me like you need to get away more often. I'm surprised Leah doesn't slip away every once in a while."

Jenna says wryly, "Why do you think our bet's so important? Two restdays, in a /row/."

"I take it nobody has found anything of that level of importance?" J'nas inquires.

Jenna shakes her head. "Not yet. I couldn't tell you how many old tithe reports I've gone through." She rolls her eyes, and leans back against Niyath. The young gold is still looking skywards, trying in vain to see more shooting stars.

J'nas snorts bemusedly. "I'm fairly certain that Fort's records go back for quite a way. I hope those apprentices are holding up as well as you are. Master Kurion can be quite the terror sometimes."

Jenna nods. "He's left a journeyman in charge here, while he's back at the hall, working on restoring some hides, I *think*. Not that the journeyman's any less of a terror. They /watch/ me. Like I'd disobey Leah and toss those mouldy old things."

J'nas leans back against Hanreth's flank. "I'd be watching you to. Between R'tran nearly breaking some of the older hides and the apprentices being told to keep riders like him away, they want to make sure nothing else goes wrong."

Jenna snorts. "Thanks eversomuch for the vote of confidence.

J'nas shakes his head. "You seem to be in a bit of a pessimistic mood this evening. Are the records getting to you that badly?"

Jenna sighs. "No. Well, maybe. It's just so *boring*."

J'nas snaps his fingers. "Exactly! Strike up a conversation with one of the Harpers while you're skimming through the hides. I'm sure they're just as bored as you are. Well, most of them."

Above the center of the bowl, Alirath spreads his wings and launches off his ledge.

Above the center of the bowl, Alirath spirals down towards the Center of the bowl, and backwings to a landing.

Jenna considers this. "I suppose. Think I might miss something that way though?"

J'nas nods mildly. "It's possible. But I think you've had enough practice at this point." He stands up and brushes the dust from his trousers. "Do you want to go inside and get something to drink?"

Jenna nods, holding out her hands to be helped up. "I might even have a glass of wine tonight. Relax a bit. And there's not Zak to wake up if I get a little tipsey and come teetering in."

J'nas takes your hands and gives you lift up. "See there? You found a bright side to the situation."

Jenna snorts mildly, "Thanks. Suppose so. Yeah, I think a mug or two of wine'd be a nice thing." She turns to mount up.

You take a running jump, grabbing the riding straps and swinging aboard Niyath as she crouches.

@>> J'nas climbs up Hanreth's forelimb, and finds a secure spot between his neckridges.

You leap off the ledge and spread your wings, rising above the center of the bowl.

You spiral down to the ground, and backwing to a landing.
Center of the Fort Weyr Bowl(#200RJ$)
The Bowl of Fort Weyr, a large, featureless plain surrounded by steep mountain cliffs, stretches out around you. It is approximately oval in shape, about 2700 meters along the long axis running southwest to northeast, and about half that distance across the short axis. You stand in its approximate centre. The soil of the bowl is somewhat sandy.
At the closest point to the living caverns about half of the tables from within that large area are placed outside, here, in the bowl. Rider and resident and guests alike partaking of meals in the open air. Indeed, one of the tables bears blackened marks, and no one seems to want to sit there.
To the northwest is the large cavern used for the Weyrling barracks. To the west is the fenced off area where the Weyr's herds are kept, and the lake shore is to the southwest. To the northeast can be seen the ledges for the junior queens and the weyrleaders. The large entrance to the Hatching Grounds can also be seen to the northeast and to the east are the Lower Caverns.

Jenna leans against Niyath for a moment, and then pushes away. "Lead on, J'nas."

J'nas slaps Hanreth on the neck. "You behave yourself out here. Hey, Alirath. How are you doing?" He gives a quick wave and moves into the caverns.

J'nas heads into the Living caverns.
J'nas has left.

Alirath whuffs cheerfully at dragons and riders arriving.

Jenna gives Alirath a ghost of a smile as she follows J'nas in.

You head into the Living Caverns.
Fort Weyr Living Cavern(#199RJa$)
Approaching half the size of the Hatching Grounds, this cavern echoes with voices during the day, and the soft patter of feet during the night. Dozens of tables are spaced throughout, each with open space around to provide small amounts of privacy for the discussions carried on at each. The night hearth, with a cluster of pots of stew and klah, is situated near the large entrance to the Several other hearths are spaced around the huge chamber, lending light and some heat to the room. The far wall is lined with tables that always hold something edible to feed the throngs of people who come into this immense room in search of a meal, a snack, or something to drink. As with most Weyrs, the Living Cavern is the busiest place with the most activity. It is here that Fortians and visitors alike migrate in an effort to find information, share gossip, and just plain socialize.

Broad marble steps to the southwest lead up to the impressive Fort Weyr kitchen. An almost constant stream of activity centers around this staircase: people coming and going with loads of goods for the stores, fresh food, dirty or clean dishes and utensils, and plenty of folks just going in to do their duty for the day or night. The aromas wafting down the stairs are indicators of which meal is being prepared or served at the moment. The view into the kitchens is clear from the Living Cavern, everything gleaming and clean, and the muffled but bustling noises coming from within just add to the air of comfort, family, and hard work done at Fort Weyr.

To the east, a short flight of stairs leads to the hallway to the inner caverns. A stout door to the north has a healer's emblem on it, marking the Infirmary. To the south is a wide tunnel, leading out of the Weyr, and a wide opening to the west leads to the Weyr bowl.

J'nas
L'nan
Meg and Peg
Fort Weyr Firelizard Perch

L'nan is at the moment crossing his eyes and sticking out his tongue at a particularly small little who is toodling around, wobbling on her little legs. She blows spit bubbles in glee as she watches the bluerider make a fool of himself.

J'nas takes a direct path to the serving table and pours out two glasses of wine. Looking for the cause of the little's attention, he spots the bluerider. "Evening, L'nan! Would you like something while I'm over here?"

Jenna follows J'nas in saying mildly, "Thanks - Least I won't fall asleep in the records room tonight like I did last night." She stops then, looking over to the bluerider and nodding lightly, "Evening, Lu."

"Pshtbththbhph." No, this wasn't the wobbly spit-bubble little. Oh, no. It was L'nan as he attempted to look up, uncross his eyes, put his tongue back in his mouth, and answer both J'nas and Jenna at the same time. He takes a breath and then says, "Evenin', guys, an' no thanks, J'nas."

J'nas offers the first glass to Jenna with a smile and makes his way to L'nan's table. "I see you're still charming the ladies. He's cute, huh?" the brownrider asks of the little.

Jenna's eyes flicker slightly at J'nas' words, though she trails along behind him, cradling her mug. "Adorable," she murmurs.

L'nan rolls his eyes, causing the little to lean back, fall on her tush, and giggle very wetly. Big green eyes look to J'nas and she nods solemnly. "Wimbam." She says it without prejudice. L'nan, for his part, grins sheepishly. "Least /they/ think I'm funny, eh?" he chuckles.

"Absolutely," J'nas replies to the girl's proclamation. He slides onto the bench and takes a sip from his glass. "I'm sure more people than the littles appreciate your humor, L'nan."

Jenna asks L'nan quietly, "Did Jeny get a chance to say goodbye to you? I know she was looking for you." She takes a drink of her wine, still hovering slightly behind J'nas and not yet taking a seat.

L'nan chuckles as a nanny scoops the little up and away. "Well, maybe one or two others," he admits to J'nas. "Though you wouldn't know it from a meeting with some of the minor Holders I had this morning." He grimaces, then looks a bit sadly at Jenna. "No," he admits. "I'm trying t'find a good time t'take a few days off and go visit, or.. y'know. Go see'r."

Speaking of humorless minor HOlders, here comes a raging one now, aimed right at L'nan. The bluerider groans audibly but stands to make himself available, muttering something about 'wher-dung duties' as he's pulled away.

Jenna nods to L'nan. "I'm sure she'd appreciate it. I saw her dorms..." She trails off as he's pulled away, and drops in the seat next to J'nas.

J'nas turns his head to look at Jenna and asks softly, "It's going to be a while before you get used to her being gone, isn't it?"

Jenna nods and shrugs slightly, turning her back towards where L'nan went. "Yeah. She's had a crush on L'nan for the last turn. It's too bad he was too busy to say goodbye to her." Her tone is studiously neutral.

J'nas sighs. "Was she upset when he didn't show up?"

Jenna shakes her head. "She was more nervous about leaving." A ghost of a smile. "Shows she's got her head on straight."

J'nas sips his wine and remains thoughtfully silent for a while. "Seems like her leaving had an impact on a lot of people."

Jenna nods and says, "Well, I was going to relax, remember? No more worrying about Jeny - or anyone else," she adds firmly.

J'nas lifts his glass and smiles. "I'll drink to that."

You say "So. How was Boll today? Wasn't that where you were headed?"

"Primarily," J'nas replies. "I was there for transport duty today. I ended up taking a few journeymen to new posts and delivering some materials to other sites. I don't think I want to do anymore flying today."

Jenna grins and asks succinctly, "Butt hurts, huh? Trade you on transports some day. Then you can sit in the records room and I can get out and about."

J'nas laughs. "You want me to trade in my sore butt for a sore butt /and/ tired eyes?"

Jenna snickers softly, taking another drink from her mug. "Not to mention dust in your hair and sore shoulders from leaning over those faded hides, trying to read 'em. I did have a nice time at Telgar today. Hard to believe the Igen Weyrlings are flying already. And I've still got to get over there and see Terri and K'fen."

J'nas gazes into his glass. "That isn't such a bad idea. I haven't seen K'fen since graduation. I'd also like to get a look at their newest queen. Master Jenufa has been practically bubbling about Chayil and her Keturath."

Jenna smiles. "She is a pretty thing. Prettier than Niyath, I'd say. Not quite as apricot colored. And Chayil's cute. I know how she feels. She was stuck between wanting to run and get drinks for everyone at Telgar and trying not to impose." She shakes her head ruefully. "Very familiar."

J'nas shakes his head. "Poor thing, trying to be the hostess no matter where she is, or you for that matter. Isn't Chayil pretty young?"

Jenna mms. "A little. She was finishing up her work for journeymen rank at the Hall though, so." She shrugs. "I need to go see Kindre more often. She's just so relaxed about all of this fuss."

J'nas smiles faintly before drinking more of his wine. "Hoping she can give you a few pointers on how to take all of your duties in stride?"

Jenna says, eyes sparkling a trifle mischeviously, "Let's just say that sane advice is never turned down. I'll listen to anyone who has any to give."

J'nas taps his chin thoughtfully with one finger. "I don't think I have any advice to give on the subject," he says finally. "Except that you shouldn't take your duty with you once you leave the room. If you're done with the records room, for example, don't take any hides with you if they're going to cause stress."

J'nas and Jenna are seated at a table, carrying a conversation over drinks.

Jenna laughs. "I'll tell Leah you said that next time," she says, teasing. "W weyrwoman's work is never done."

J'nas hmphs. "Maybe you should see Kindre, then. Faranth knows /I/ don't want stressed out weyrwomen running around the Weyr," he teases.

Nananthia ambles from the lower caverns, hides tucked into every available pocket - even Kachina has been disposed and now resides on the lass' shoulder as she makes her way into the room, "Howdy!" she says woth a yawn.

J'nas groans as he sees the hide-laden lass. "Evening, Nan. You're not helping my arguement, you know."

Jenna shakes a warning finger at J'nas and then waves to Nan, "Evening - uh oh. None of those better be for me," she says, giggling. "J'nas' orders."

Nananthia laughs and shakes her head, "Nah - these'r goin' ta that there records room." She slumps in a seat and yawns again.

J'nas waves his hand at the hides as if they were offensive. "Why don't you put those somewhere. I'll have no talk of records at this table," he says with the tone of a Lord Holder. "This is Jenna's time to relax, isn't it?" he asks of the goldrider.

Jenna laughs. "Yessir!" She snaps off a salute to the brownrider and slouches more comfortably in her chair. "Just tell me if you see Norri or Leah, or Milque bearing down on me." Her tone is bemused. "Are you as tired of those hides as I am, Nan?"

Nananthia laughs and nods, pulling the hides from her pockets and tossing them to another table, as soon as the bib pocket of her overalls is clear, Kachina resumes her rightful place with a happy chirps, "Shells am I.."

J'nas looks back and forth between the two. "Are either one of you taking shifts instead of cramping up in there all day long?"

Jenna chews on her lower lip. "Uh...." Clearly, the answer for her is a big fat 'no'.

Nananthia snorts drolly and grins at J'nas, "Shifts are fer them people that ain't strong enough ta handle the load.. I work hard, I don't need no one ta replace m'"

J'nas covers his face with one hand and shakes his head. After he recovers from his exasperation, he loks up. "The two of you are going to wear yourselves out for nothing. Leah asked for help from the Harper Hall for a reason."

You say "Well, yes, but it's our duty. Enough about hides, though. Tell you what," she grins at Nan, "Next time you get lunch free, you can come make us take a break, hm?"

Nananthia laughs and nods, "Now there's an idea.." she says slantign a sly look at the brownrider, "You could even take us somewhere nice.. like that Boll place I done been hearing about."

J'nas has obviously been caught by this one. "I guess the weyr is only a quick hop away, isn't it. If I come to steal you away for lunch, I don't want to hear one complaint about duty."

Jenna looks rather pleased with herself. "Not a peep, I promise." She grins at Nan. "How about you?"

Nananthia crosses her heart, "Not a peep, I swears it." she says happily.

"It's a deal, then," J'nas exclaims. "Next time I'm free, I will be dragging you out of that musty old pile of animal skins. And by Faranth, you're going to enjoy yourselves!"

Nananthia usees her hand as a fan, "What a threat, 'Nas.." she says with a wink to Jenna, "Can ya feel that heat?"

Jenna says, without thinking about it much, "Do I ever not enjoy myself when I'm with you, J'nas?" She grins at Nan, "I'm trembling in my boots." A pause and then she asks, "Oh, Sef was asking me this morning about you and Ember?" She waits for an explaination, eyebrows arched lightly.

J'nas is all smiles as Jenna makes her remark about enjoying herself. That, however, is short lived when she poses her question. His eyes narrow with suspicion. "What did F'niah ask you?"

Jenna tilts her head, watching J'nas. "Looks like I struck a nerve. Nothing much. You know Sef." She darts a look at Nananthia, and back to J'nas."

Nananthia arches her eyebrows between the two curiously, "Some weyr gossip I ain't heard?" she asks, her ears perking.

Niyath> Hanreth senses that Niyath asks curiously and completely out of the blue, << Is your rider mating with *Ember*? >> A flash of the girl's image is given, along with complete surprise.

J'nas snorts. "Apparently, it's some gossip /I/ haven't even heard about." He turns his eyes back on Jenna. "Well? What did Sef say?

Jenna shrugs. "Just that he was wondering what was up between you guys. He really wasn't making much sense. And I got him flustered, so..."

Dragon> Niyath senses that Hanreth is caught completely off balance. << That girl is mated with Randoth's. J'nas would not do such a thing. >>

Niyath> Hanreth senses that Niyath is clearly confused. << Oh. Jenna thought - well, why does he get so defensive when she is mentioned? >>

J'nas shakes his head. "All I know is that Ember told F'niah that I'm mean to her. I haven't the slightest clue what I did. I've hardly seen her since she moved in with Rey."

Dragon> Niyath senses that Hanreth explains as best he can. << J'nas is frustrated because he does not know why he is the subject of this gossip. >>

Niyath> I bespoke Hanreth with << Ah. He should ask the girl. Saneth's rider said that he thought she said it just to get him to bed her. >> That was rather tactless, but she doesn't seem to care. << I am glad your rider is not bedding her. One other is enough for Jenna to compete with. >> >>

Nananthia arches an eyebrow, "How verry interestin'.." she murmurs, watching the byplay.

Jenna mms. "Well, you know Sef. I wouldn't worry about it. Did you ask Rey, since you haven't really seen Ember?"

"The one morning I did catch him, Ember happened to show up," J'nas replies. "Apparently, he wasn't aware of this either."

Jenna looks to Nan, "Have you heard anything about this?" Then back to J'nas, "So you didn't ask him?"

Nananthia shakes her head, "Nah, I ain't heard nothin' If somthings goin' on it's hushed up tight." she says with a grin.

Dragon> Hanreth bespoke Niyath with << To get J'nas or Saneth's rider to bed her? Saneth's rider is not always logical. >> There is a slight pause as Hanreth is caught unaware again. << Your Jenna wants my J'nas? >>

Niyath> Hanreth senses that Niyath responds only, << Saneth's rider is rarely logical. >> The question of wants she leaves out there.

J'nas shakes his head again. "I asked him if everything was alright with Ember. I didn't want to come right out and say that his weyrmate was spreading rumors about me. I was trying to build up to the actual question when she arrived."

Aeriste comes up the steps from the Inner Caverns.
Aeriste has arrived.

Jenna hms. She, J'nas and Nan are at a table, relaxing, apparently. "Well, you could always have Hanreth ask Randoth."

J'nas shrugs. "I could do that, but Hanreth seems to think I'm wasting my time worrying about it. When it comes right down to it, he's right. Until Ember comes right up and tells me why she thinks I'm mean to her, I should just ignore what I hear." He nods to a quick greeting to Aeriste. "The problem is, it's easier to say it than it is to actually /do/ it."

Jenna follows J'nas's look and nods to Aeriste, "Evening." Then, "I suppose. I'd personally just ask Ember."

Aeriste blinks slowly at the conversation, and perches on the edge of a table. "...Evening."

Nananthia smiles and waggles her fingers at Aeriste, "Howdy, laddie buck! HOw're ya this evening."

J'nas shrugs and sighs. "That's probably what I'll have to do. There's no other way to find out what's going on."

Niyath> Niyath stirs restlessly, trying to make a more comfortable wallow in the dirt.

Jenna nods to J'nas, taking a drink from her mug, only to discover she's out. "Aeriste, what were you up to today? And," as she rises, "Anyone else need anything while I'm up?"

J'nas holds up his glass. "I could use a refill." Glad to have the attention off of him, the brownrider turns to face Aeriste, awaiting his reply.

Aeriste tilts his head to the side. "Same as usual... A lot of people've been talking about Ember lately, haven't they? F'niah was avoiding her..."

Jenna sniffs. "Sounds more like one of Sef's wild wherry tales." She takes J'nas' glass and goes to refill both of them.

Niyath> Foolishly, Hanreth decides that blowing dust in Niyath's direction could be fun. With a big *whuff*, the brown sends a cloud of dirt into the air.

Jenna comes back and deposits the glass in J'nas' hand. As she starts to take her seat, eyes glaze and she frowns. "Looks like my presence today was definately missed. Leah wants to see me. If you all will excuse me?" She eyes the glass in her hands and then tosses back the contents in a long few swallows, before heading for the bowl.

Niyath> I bespoke Hanreth with << Now I need another bath. >>

J'nas takes the glass with a thankful smile. "A weyrwoman's work is never done, eh Jenna? I'll see you in the morning, I'm sure.

Nananthia smiles and waves to Jenna, "See ya Jenna!" she calls cheerfully. She winks at J'nas, "ya know.. ya need ta find ya a woman 'r somethin' that'll squash all them rumors I bet'cha."

Jenna turns blood red for some reason, as she heads out of the cavern.
