Childhood:
Jenna had a disgustingly normal childhood and young adulthood. Her home runner station was Fallon's, a small cothold halfway between Fort Hold and Fort Sea Hold. Both runners, her parents Darrin and Merlita raised 8 children, seven boys and Jenna, who comes in the lower grouping of kids, only two from last. Youngest is Merrin, 6 turns behind Jenna, while the middle brothers are Erlin (Benden area runner), Martan (Crom area), and Delir (Nerat area). Merrin got his belt just before Jenna Impressed and took over her duties at Fort. While not strictly a tomboy, Jenna nonetheless has very few 'girly habits', a term she'll cheerfully ascribe to a variety of holder folk.

Gangly and tall for her age, Jen is proud of her runner heritage and hoped to be the first runner in the coming Interval to complete a Crossing. In fact, she was already planning for that day some ten turns distant when Niyath found her. She preferred mountain running to the plains south of Fort and the longer trips to Ruatha, though she wouldn't say 'no' to a sprint at a Gather.

Erith and Zyanth's Clutch:
She's stood twice at Fort, first for Erith and Zyanth's clutch with Ariandra and F'ren as Weyrleaders. Among the friends she made were: Hiriwa, Caralain, Christania, Aedevan, Britani, Lijan, Talene, Vaelyn, Milque (Gold Elynth's), D'zel (Bronze Xannarth's), S'phan (Brown Toranth's), L'nan (Blue Alirath's), R'nal (Blue Azureth's), T'rel (Blue Lestith's), K'ryn (Blue Tavorth's), Dastra (Green Cheylth's), Aluren (Green Stith's), and V'lin (Green Vaerdanth's).

Dastra and D'zel, brother and sister, went on to become Weyrlingmasters for the next clutch at Fort. Jenna, however, let herself get so out of shape that T'shar, bronze Toniath's rider and the one who searched her, beat her in a footrace. She regrouped and devoted all of her time to training, even doing a stint at Nerat with Delir in preparation for her Crossing when the pass ended.

Elynth and Xannarth's Clutch:
The second time, Jenna was searched by K'ryn's Tavorth for Elynth and Xannarth's clutch with only a few sevendays before the eggs started rocking. She stood along with: Anonee, Kasrin, Peros, Shannen, Danielle, Tejas (who later became T'jas at IGW), N'sales (Bronze Orenth's), Mansi (Brown Daijith's), D'won (Brown Geddeth's), S'ral (Brown Raith's), Cloretta (Green Ghianath's), Kesha (Green Sath's), Talene (Green Xrienth's), and Kelli (Green Yukionnath's).

Interlude:
Jenna was disappointed to be left standing again, but she had her dream: to be the first to run a Crossing in the upcoming Interval, and to be the fastest time yet doing it. But it was during the hatching feast that she met, quite by accident, a man that would completely change her life. How do you apologize for spilling juice on the Masterharper's gather tunic? Why, by falling head over heels for him, of course. Master Rodric was charming and worldly, about twelve turns her senior and with a terribly reputation where women were concerned, but that didn't stop Jenna. She was determined to be his friend if nothing else.

Just after the hatching, Ariandra and F'ren handed over the reins of leadership to Leah, Jinieth's rider. L'nan was named acting Weyrleader, and he and Jenna became close friends, in part due to K'ryn's transfer to Telgar Weyr. When Jinieth rose next, Jenna was with Rodric and the friendship between the two deepened into something far more. As a result, she didn't meet the new Weyrleader P'ter, until later on in the sevenday, when she finally dragged herself back to work. The Igen-trained rider settled in well, naming D'won Weyrlingmaster for the next clutch (Jinieth and Aisheth's first) and N'sales and L'nan Weyrseconds. During this time, Jenna talked at length to Norse about his feelings for Leah, and she was the one that convinced him to weyrmate with her, though she'll never admit she had anything to do with it.

Jinieth and Aisheth's Clutch:
Jenna was conveniently away on a long trip to Ruatha and upper Igen for most of Jinieth and Aisheth's first clutch. Rumor has it she good-naturedly threatened L'nan with death if Alirath so much as looked in her direction. She'd gathered a small troupe of children to look after including Jenylle and Zalkin, whom she was training to be a runner. When Jinieth rose next, L'nan was the one she stayed with, further confusing her feelings for both the bluerider and the Harper. The clutching hadn't even finished, however, when Aisheth crashed down in front of her, barring her from leaving the weyr, and P'ter asked her to stand for Jinieth and Aisheth's second clutch.

As before, she became fast friends with many, including: Akela, Carianna, Ember, Jamison, Jonas, Mirrari, Nananthia, Randall, Redus, Reyat (Zalkin's brother), Rytran, Sefaniah, Soranda, Tamsin, Xiang and Zephyr. She also pulled her share of pranks, sneaking a sleeping, snoring Rey out floating in the hot springs and telling poor Sef that wearing a mud concoction on his face would guarantee him impressing. The most telling part of her candidacy was the fight with L'nan, however, of the business of grinding klah. Jenna's Da had always told her that klah was bad for you. And so when she got the chore of grinding, it mysteriously didn't get done. For two days. People were getting surly, and L'nan ordered her to boil numbweed in exchange, leading to a heated exchange between the two.

Third Time's the Charm:
When the clutch hatched on the first day of the second month of Turn Forty of the Tenth Pass, Jenna saw J'nas impress Brown Hanreth, R'dall impress Brown Teth, R'yat impress Bronze Randoth, R'tran impress Bronze Eishith, F'niah impress Blue Saneth, and Zephyr impress Green Taisoth. The eggs were mostly gone and Jenna was resigned to returned to her duties as a runner. But then she looked down to Benevolent Twilight Gold Niyath before her and her entire world changed. The jubilant pair was escorted off the sands by Milque to join the others in the barracks.

Rodric and L'nan were both near tears of joy on seeing her impress, though she didn't have much time at the feast with the Harper. He was busy with duty, and her family was clamoring for news and to be introduced around. When an exhausted Jenna got back to the barracks, she was surprised by J'nas's question: was she ready for the responsibility? It hit her like a dragonweight of firestone: Niyath was gold. How did she miss this?!?

Weyrlinghood:
The shocks just kept coming. Not only would she have to learn everything that the other riders did, she'd also have to learn dragonhealing and how to manage a weyr. P'ter scared the life out of her, telling her how Niyath would be able to order Aisheth around when she was older, and Leah took time for several chats with the newest goldrider in those first chaotic weeks, to try to settle her. And Niyath, of course, was confused at all the fuss. It wasn't until Niyath jumped all over bronze Behemoth from the Reaches for 'feeding in our pens without asking', that Jenna really began to accept all that was in store for her.

Weyrlinghood is always full of changes, and for Jenna it was no exception. By necessity, cut off from her relationships with Rodric and L'nan because of Niyath's immaturity, she became closer to her barracks mates than she had even with others in her candidate classes before. Soon Niyath was flying, Jenna was mastering using a flamethrower in the air, and things were progressing well enough, despite F'niah's carping at her. The two butted heads every time they turned around, cluminating with Niyath having a fit when he tried to kiss her, just as the males and greens were becoming mature. Niyath would have none of that. This was her rider, and everyone else should back off. Adding to this problem, when the weyrlings were finally mature enough to have 'relations' (encouraged, in fact, by K'fen and P'ter), when Jenna went to find L'nan, he was already with someone. Kassima, green Lysseth's rider from Telgar. That was the worst blow. And so Niyath was allowed to get away with her tantrums.

At the end of weyrlinghood, the Harper Hall sponsored a Gather. Because of Niyath's unpredictable temper regarding others manhandling her rider, Leah told Jenna that she must have an escort at all times. Thus, no chance to see Rodric alone. But N'ren, an older brownrider from Igen Weyr, managed to steal her out from under her escort's nose, and she had a lovely time. Until, of course, she was caught. By L'nan. Who had no right to get jealous, but did anyway. Jenna was sent back to the weyr in disgrace. And someone unexpected came looking for her: P'ter. After a long conversation between the two, discussing Niyath's problems with allowing anyone physically near her rider, the queen was forced to deal with the issue. A new, albeit cautious, relationship began between the two, neither one looking for anything much deeper, but simply taking comfort in each other's company. Jenna was tapped in due course by Leah and took her place in the queen's wing.

Turn 41:
Jenna settled into her own weyr, awed by the size of it. In fact, the first few sevendays, she was positive it was haunted. She never had a room to herself before, and the quiet was unnerving. So much so that she asked J'nas to sleep on the couch one night, just to keep her company. P'ter was an irregular, but welcome visitor, and she and L'nan drifted further apart. Master Rodric stepped down as Masterharper to spend more time with his daughter, and Master Jenufa, J'nas's mother, stepped into his shoes.

Not long after being tapped, Jenna sat down with R'yat and had a discussion about his little brother Zalkin, who, along with Jenylle, had been Jenna's off and on foster. R'yat weyrmated with Ember immediately upon graduation, and she, Rain and Zak were all crowded into Rey's weyr. Zak had started fighting again, and so, Jenna said she'd take over his foster care full time. Zak moved into her weyr the next day.

Jenylle, meanwhile, was growing to an age where she really didn't need a foster mother looking over her shoulder every few minutes. Because of this, Jenna agreed to talk to Cathedra of Igen about fostering her daughter, Yvera, who was the same age as Zalkin. The two had met while Merrin was a candidate for Irianth and Riolth's clutch. Then, Jeny told Jenna and Zinnia with great pride that she had been accepted to the Smithcraft as an apprentice. Jenna saw the girl off, and asked Kindre, Herath's rider at Telgar, to keep an eye on her.

Picking up Yvera at Igen was no mean feat. Luckily, Jenna had time to visit K'fen and Terrilia, who were expecting their first flight child. She discussed F'niah with K'fen. His blue Saneth, now well over two and a half turns old, has yet to chase a green, and Jenna is beginning to get worried. The two hatched a plan to toss K'fen and F'niah together and see what happens.

Throughout all of this, J'nas has been a constant presence in Jenna's life. Initially attracted to him and confused over where her relationship with L'nan and Rodric stood, they've been back and forth, constantly at cross purposes. J'nas too, has a relationship with Raeche, and that has confused Jenna for a while now. With Milque's Elynth starting to glow, and Niyath still only 'playing' at mating issues, Jenna's main concern now is keeping everyone away, so that no one can say she influenced her queen when she does rise to mate. And, in the middle of all this are Zak and Yvera, tearing up the weyr bit by bit.
